Google reportedly working on follow-up to Chromebook Pixel
In wake of recent rumors that Google is working on a follow-up to its discontinued second-generation Chromebook Pixel, some analysts have suggested that it is the perfect time for the launch of a new Google laptop. Google discontinued the second-generation Chromebook Pixel laptop in 2016, and it has not been available for purchase since mid of last year.
Citing anonymous sources, Android Police recently reported that Google is working on a follow-up to the discontinued laptop, prompting analysts to predict that the new model will be a pleasant surprise for Google laptop fans.
According to Android Police, Google may launch the new model in the third quarter of this year. It may be a convertible with a 360-degree hinge just like Samsung’s Chromebook Pro. It may feature a 12.3-inch display, 8GB or 16GB of RAM, and 32GB or 128GB of storage.
The hybrid device is also expected to be roughly 10mm in thickness and include an optional Wacom stylus.
Along with the new Chromebook laptop, Google is also expected to introduce a new mini version of its Google Home to challenge Amazon’s widely popular Echo Dot.
